Unanswered: My 2 puppies
hello everyone Im new
I have just got well had over a week now to brother mongrl puppies, they are lovely, me and my partner work but he is only part time so he spends alot of time with them. They are catching on to the house training fast, only 2 accidents in the house yesterday! They share food and do not get agressive one bit with each other when they are eating, the thing is they fight everyone says they are playing but they sound nasty - I can tell already who will be the alpha male, Im just a little worried it may get out of hand..
Has anyone else had or got 2 sibling dogs? & got any tips for me
They stay together in the kitchen at night and we do not hear anything from they, so I assume they do not fight.

Puppies don't fight, they play. When one gets to rough for the other, it'll be put back in line by the other. Don't get it the way of them, when they're playing or putting each other back in check. There's a puppy called 1 and a puppy called 2. If 1 plays with 2, then 2 gets rough, stopping 1 from defending himself will cause problems and fights in the future. Simple.
Getting two puppies at the same time - male especially - is never a good idea for new dog owners, whether it's their first dog or third. Make sure you and your OH are the top dogs in the house, that way most of the play will end in more play, not fight. I suggest a training class for both of the pups. It might be an idea to send your hubby off to a separate class with one pup, while you train the other in another class.
Puppies won't be interested in training, they'll be interested in playing. Work hard, and please, don't give up! If you give up and give your dogs away, they'll most likely be adopted separately and left feeling lost without the other, or they'll be adopted together and sent straight back. I'm sure you'll have those pups trained in no time, just put the time and effort into it. Spending 10-15 minutes a night/morning training is just enough. Obviously you have the bit on the side where you ask for a sit or wait before giving them *something* (i.e food, treats, putting the lead on...) or just get bored and have five minutes which you can fill with training.
Good luck.

Thanks, I can assure you I will not give up on these dogs, I love them very much (already) and the thought of seperating or having to choose one makes me upset, it wont happen...
I kinda rescued the dogs, they came from a really run down family and were not gettin fed, there was only the two left, I couldnt leave one..
I will have a look round for some classes, get them trained up..
They are catching on quick, mind, had them a week and they know to go to the back door already - I would say one to two accidents a day, which is really good I think..
I know it will take alot of time and effort but I am really willing to put it in - in my eyes they are worth it - Thier my friends for life
Thanks again x

Many time what happened that when dogs were taking food then they don't believe on anybody. Even if we try to disturb during taking food so may be it would react as a stranger.

I have two shorty JRT's - brother and sister but 2 litters apart. When they play, you would swear that murder is being committed! Loads of growling, showing of teeth, chasing, etc. However, they really are just playing. It took me a bit to get used to it since my Border Collie and the older JRT never played that way but, Bailey is a lot bigger and a lot older than Lara. Unless someone is getting hurt, I wouldn't worry about it. They're just having fun!

My dogs "fight" all the time. They really sound aggressive but their ears are up and they occasionally break apart and chase each other around, taunting and teasing. They play rough but it is play.
