Default Unanswered: Dog Urinating on my bed

Hi. I have a newly adopted 2 year old Shiz Tzu mix. (not yet spayed). She's been with us for 3 weeks, and has been perfect up until now. Last night for some reason she hopped up on the bed, squatted on the blanket over my leg and peed. What's up with that? She's our 2nd dog; we also have a Shih Tzu that's 7-1/2. Any idea what's going on in her head?

It's a new home, she's confused. Was there any access to her actual toileting area? Keep her off your bed until she's completely sure of where to go, it's best if she can't wee on the furniture again.

My newest addition - a little JRT puppy has done the same thing. I've brought his bed into my bedroom so he doesn't feel left out of things but, he isn't allowed on the bed unless I'm right there to supervise him. We haven't had an incident since.

this could be a way of him or her marking their territory. Doesn't matter whether it's a male or female. It's just going to take some training on your part to let her know that that is unacceptable. You may also want to use some specially made scent eliminator sprays for dogs to get rid of her pee scent, because if not she will keep going in the same spot.
