Boston terriers are prone to food allergies. I have one and have had to deal with this same problem. He is most likely allergic to the corn or chicken in his food. Purina is a pretty low quality food. I would try something with out corn, preferably grain free and chicken free. It may cost more, but you will see improvement. If it is allergies, the problem won't go away until the allergens are removed from his diet. There is a chance that food allergies aren't the problem. You may want to take him to the vet to see what he thinks. Boston terriers are also prone to demodectic mange and a symptom of that is itchiness, I believe. Your vet can determine if it is demodectic mange by doing a skin scraping. BTW, when you change foods it sometimes takes up to 8 weeks to see improvement.
