Default Unanswered: Gracie brings slipper to middle of room when we leave

Not always, but sometimes when my husband and I leave Gracie in the house alone... we will find a slipper or sneaker in the middle of the living room floor when we return home. Usually it's a slipper. It's almost like... she's missing us and need comforted by something close to us. Anyone else have a dog that does this? It's so sweet...

Dogs feel a sense of security when they have something with your scent on it.
This is why when crate training I always advise to take an old shirt and put in the crate. So long as they are near to your scent, they feel you are still near.
It is very common for them to take something and carry it around.

Wow I never knew that dogs cuddled up to things that smelled like their owners. Explains a lot. Thanks.

With mine it's a blanket. They have to take my blanket out of my chair all try to cram their enormous bodies on it. I am glad it's not shoes or a slipper. I would think they would be scarred for life by the stink of footwear.
