To answer your question, Isaboo was a little puppy when Rachel Ray bought her from a reputable AKC breeder. In the most recent attack, she was being walked by a professional handler when she lunged at another dog walking by and ripped off its ear. I would have no problem with pit bulls if the owners would just keep them securely muzzled.
BTW, I've met a number of pit bulls or pit bull crosses and have personally found them to be nice friendly dogs. The woman who owns my local dog food store has one; a rescue that has always been friendly. She is also securely muzzled because that is the law here. If she wasn't, the woman would be out of business in no time flat because nobody would bring their dogs into her store.
What I find really scary is when a pit bull that has been adopted by a family, loved and treated well suddenly turns and attacks a family member; usually a child. These people are always dumbfounded that their family pet would do something like that. These dogs are unpredictable. You just never know when they're going to "go postal" and when they do, they just won't stop. It is hard to describe to someone who has never seen a pit bull attack. They seem to somehow "zone out." In the case that I witnessed, I don't know how many times that dog was smashed with a pipe and it just kept coming back for more. It was like watching a horror movie!

You talk about Ray's pit being out of control and aggressive on walks but I have seen many dogs like this regardless of breed.
Every statistic I have dug up does nothing to support the fact that pit bull attacks are more frequent than attacks from other breeds. It's just the amount of damage that a pit bull can dish out that gives them their bad rap. As my stats earlier showed, a dog like a small toy breed is more likely to bite someone than a dog like a pit bull, however if they bite it wouldn't do nearly as much damage as a pit bull could. Doesn't make one breed anymore aggressive than the other. If anything, the toy breed is more aggressive than the pit but when the pit does attack it's merely capable of a lot more. Like a person. Person A is a wife beater and so is person B but person A is much stronger and larger than A. Both are the same frequency but Person A causes a lot more damage even if he doesn't beat the wife nearly as often. Se what I'm saying?

Looks like a full blooded Pit Bull to me! Very pretty dog! I love Pit Bulls and they are actually very very sweet dogs!
