Looks to me like he's got some terrier in him. He could well be a lurcher cross.

Looking around the face and head, the hair looks like it could be terrier of some kind, Schnauzer. Not really sure. How old and how tall and heavy is he?

Anyone else think the dog looks like a wire haired jack russell?

Maybe some but this dog is so tall that there has to be something else mixed in. I want to know how tall it is! Looks pretty thin too.
What is its name?
Forgot which member mentioned the Lurcher--but think they may be right. Here is a link to check this out--Be sure to scroll all the way down and to click also onthe next page--something page 1? There are a few that look similar to your dog--esp. down a little way on the 2nd page:

Do you have lurchers in the states?
- A cross between a sight hound (greyhound, whippet, saluki etc) and a terrier. They are very popular working dogs here in the UK. He's definitely got the look of a rough coated Jack Russell but the legs are long, even for a Parson Russell dog.

Well yea. There's obviously something else mixed in there as well.

Thank you all for helping
me too , I believe that he's got some terrier in him but, you know he's sometimes very very aggressive with foreigners .. howlling and trying to bite that's why I thought he's got perhaps (german shepherd..something like that) in his blood, I'm not sure :-D . He's about 8 months old , weights about
8 - 11 lbs, and he is about 45 cm in tall

If he is only 8/11 lbs then I doubt there's any German Shepherd in there. What do you know of his background? How long have you had him and what has experienced with you? Any breed of dog can be aggressive and snappy if not properly socialised and even then two dogs who are treated in exactly the same way can be totally different in character. He definitely has terrier in him I'm sure - perhaps some whippet? Where did you get him? I'm guessing you didn't see him with his mum and the rest of the litter?

Well if he has terrier in him that could very well explain the howling and behavior. Terriers are commonly noted for their watch dog attitude.
A dog does not have to be a GSD to bark and or howl at strangers.
