My 14 Month old Maltese/Bichion has recently started taking water from his water bowl and spitting it into his food bowl.
He does not eat it and does it to both dry and wet food.

Does anyone have any idea what he is trying to tell me?

Is he trying to tell you he doesn't like his dog food? I feed raw and home-cooked so don't think much of commercial dog food to start with. What are the brands you are using?---Maybe finding a better brand would help. Another thing you could test this out maybe --is to add a chopped hard cooked egg into his dog food or some other thing-cottage cheese, etc. and see if he still does this. If he does eat it this way, at least he will be eating something --as you are worried he is not eating. I wouldn't only do this once as he may not ever want the reg. dog food and be even more fussy! (I have to say though, I can't blame him for not liking that dog food--reg. food is much more nutritious) But maybe finding a better brand if this sort of proves he doesn't like that brand!----Unless you want to keep adding things to his reg dog food.

Hope you will check out this thread if you decide to add any 'human' food. I almost can guarantee there will be things/foods here listed that you will have no idea how dangerous they are. It is good reading even if you don't plan on supplementing with 'human grade food!' Please read it!----even things like cocoa mulch can be very bad. Here is the thread:

He's a cheeky boy - that what he is lol.
I have been testing him over this past weekend and he is not going to starve.
He will eat it (water and all) if he is hungry.
I have got to try and get this on film for you all - its so cute - a little strange but very cute.
