Unanswered: HELP...!! Our Schnauzer quit going in his kennel
Hello everyone, We have a 6 month old miniature Schnauzer. We bought him from the breeder when he was about 3 months old. He was crate trained when he joined our family. He has been very good about going in his kennel until the last couple of weeks. He has suddenly started to run from us and refuses to go in his kennel when we try to get him to go there. We usually send him there only at night (to go to bed), during the day (when we are at work) and in the evening when we are having dinner. If we don't place him in the kennel while we are having dinner he will jump on us and and try to get at our food (I feel this has something to do with it). I just flat out don't understand it...!!! He was so good at going to his kennel for several months and now...all of an sudden...he just runs from us when we try to get him to go in there. We usually just have to let him go out to the screened porch. When he gets there he just sits at the door looking at us while we eat dinner. Are there any ideas out there? We've tried everything. Giving him treats when he goes in...he has food and water in the crate...we praise him when we can get him to go in voulantarily. He's a smart puppy (although very hyper). If anyone has any ideas out there...PLEASE HELP...!! We are out of ideas...!! Thanks in advance. Harry
