Hello and welcome. Your little one should not be in contact with other dogs until all the puppy vaccines are complete.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Glad to have you! Laura's Mom is right. After the vaccinations she can socialize with other dogs, however I find it alright for her to interact a bit with other dogs before hand if you personally know those dogs are up to date on their own vaccines, but I don't believe in vaccinating yearly so that's another story.

Vaccinations

If there is any doubt just wait until your dog is vaccinated. You can have her outside a bit, some are against this but I find it alright as long as it isn't over done and you aren't letting the dog romp through the woods or anything, and even consider department stores that are dog friendly such as Lowes or Home Depot.

Good luck and congrats on the new pup!

Puppies need to be socialized big time. So you can have your pup around dogs you know that have been vaccinated and you know are healthy. This could be dogs from friends/relatives. Don't take your pup to dog parks or as Todd said, romp through the woods.

When a pup is fully vaccinated(including rabies) they are 16 weeks. This is way to long for a pup not to be around other dogs/pups.

How old is your pup?

Socializing is so important! I'd agree with GSDS's advice. Waiting till all the vaccinations are complete is too long for the pup to be isolated without contact with other dogs. But you also want to be safe, so make sure they are around healthy, vaccinated dogs. Socializing at this young age will help decrease the odds of having an aggressive dog (towards other dogs). All the new sounds and sights will help the puppy develop. Good luck with your little one!
