Default Unanswered: new here!! hope you can help with my puppy problems

hi i am new on here, i live in scotland and i have 2 dogs. 1 lhasa apso boy who is 13yrs old now and a 7 month old lhasa apso X shih tzu girl.

bella our pup is a lovely wee girl and i never seem to have any issues with her, always comes back to me if we are out and she is off the lead, only slight problem i have is if she is on the lead she gets a bit nasty when people walk past....... however this has improved alot recently.

my dad who also walks her has a whole other set of problems, not coming back to him when off the lead aggression on the lead, aggression towards our other dog Tin Tin ( when i have them out they play fight and run about together but nothing nasty) and to top it al off he said that today she had been fine with everyone she met rolling onto her back to get her tummy tickled until she saw a little girl, my dad says she attacked this little girl and her father had wanted to call the police etc, my dad had talked him out of it. i dont kno how to deal with this as i never see it happening, plus the fact that my dad has a tendency to stretch the truth.

what should i do?? there are no decent training classes where i live. should she be kept on the lead at all times?? should she be muzzled?? in his eyes nothing the puppy does is ever right. but i never have these problems with her i feel like i should just find her another home.

hope someone can help us

Hi - good to have another Brit - albeit from the other end of the country! I'm in West Wales.

What a horrible situation to be in. Could you perhaps go out with your dad or, even better, tell him you want to watch the behaviour when Bella doesn't know you are there and watch them from a distance? Just to see exactly what is going on and whether things are as bad as your father says. Does your father have to walk her? Could you get someone else to walk her instead?

Sounds like she is much better behaved with you than your father. Is this correct? This can sometimes be true. You may be the alpha of the dog but your father is not. Sounds like it could very well be the issue here. Here is a link on asserting yourself as the alpha which your dad needs to do in order to be in control of the situation.

How To Become ALPHA DOG -- Pack Leader -- You'll Learn Here -Be TOP DOG

Right now, your dog may feel as if it can take advantage of your father but knows better with you. You're father needs to assume the alpha position and the leader position.

Try this then go from there. This should help a lot. Please keep us updated.
