Question Answered: Help identifiying new puppy

We have a puppy that was found on the side of the road. We have no idea what type of dog this is (I'm assuming a mix of some kind, but am not really familiar with identifying them). I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out. I'd also like to have an idea so maybe I can figure out how big it may grow to be.

Thank you for taking the time to look!

Since it is still a pup--How much will it change in looks as it grows to adulthood!? For the time being I will say what comes to mind for the present 'look'----Jack Russell Terrier may be all or part. Maybe a little beagle--the ears don't look long enough but may have the ears of the Jack Russell too! Be able to tell better as it gets older.

Will leave you this link--good place for all breeds pics and description and other info:

Jack Russell Terrier Information and Pictures, Jack Russell Terriers

Beagle Information and Pictures, Beagles --lot of pages to click on for pics here. How much does your puppy weigh right now? Height from top of shoulder down? Male or female? What did you name it? 8-)

Thank you very much for your input and the links. I have been looking at dog pictures, but really had no idea where to begin! I don't mind what it 'looks like' as it grows older, but if possible I was trying to determine if she would be on the smaller or larger side.

If you said he was a Jack Russell pup I would definitely agree! But from that first pic he looks like a pointer too LOL!

Pointer

But as Corkymax says, for now it is a waiting game. My Jack Russell looked like a cross between a border collie and Cavalier spaniel as a small pup. You really can not have any idea what your dog will grow into unless you know for certain you have seen both parents.

Lovely little pup though.

We named her Kai. (Ky) She is about 14 inches long and about seven inches tall from paw to top of shoulder. Very loving and takes easily to three kids. She didn't even put up a fuss over getting a bath.

There is a dog that goes to the dog park and I have taken care of several times. She looks VERY similar to this although she is all grown up, 15 years old. She is a pointer, springer spaniel mix I believe. She grew to be about 55lbs or so.

Very cute little pup!
