Default Unanswered: HELP!!! Family Putting down dog

my fiance got a puppy before i was with him. She is an american staffy and was born a boy/girl which was unknown when she was a puppy. she got surgery and is now a girl. but she has always been a little confused and is a beautiful dog but often very territorial and a bit scarey. We are from a farm and she lives with my fiances parents as since i have met him we have moved to a home where she can not be.. She is the most loving and beautiful dog to people she knows and loves to lick and give cuddles. she is now 4 years old and when anyone she doesnt know comes around she is very vicious and we are afraid she will one day bite someone. She lives in an enclosed cage at night and goes into the yard in the daytime. There are now children around the home to and she is quiet vicious towards them because she is afraid an everyone is afraid she will do something. i dont think she would bite but you can never take that chance.. My fiance's family is now going to shoot her because they can't trust her.. i am so upset because i know she is a beautiful dog but she is not mine and i can not have her at my house as i have no fencing or anything and i know the rspca will not take her if she has behaviour issues. i feel sorry for my fiance because he loves her too but all her problems from when she was born messes with her hormones. i dont know what to do. Is it better if they put her down? or should i fight for her life. she is really a gorgeous dog and never been vicious towards any of the family.. When i look at her when she is laying on my lap it kills me to think of them killing her. please give me some advice on what to do. im deperate

That's a very difficult position to be in. If you can not take her and your fiance's parents are certain they can not either the only thing to do is to look for a no kill shelter in your area or near enough for you to take her there. I know you only have positive experience of her but if it was my home I would be putting the safety of my children ahead of everything else and I would not want an unpredictable dog around them.

Google Staffordshire rescue and see if you can get her into rescue. Rescue is a much better choice than any shelter. She might be able to get into a foster home and finally to an appropriate home.

Exactly. I feel so bad for you guys. I would ask around even with craigslist adds and try to find a loving home. if all else fails, as mentioned, find a no kill shelter at all costs.
