I would like to purchase a dvd on basic dog training for a rescue dog. I realize many of their traits and habits will already be formed when you recieve an older dog but I am hoping to find a dog around a year old or so and would like advice on proper training or retraining if needed. Is Cesar Milan a good place to start? If so which of his dvd's would you recommend? If not him who else would be good? Thanks for your help.

Not sure about DVDs. I would go with a trainer more along the lines of Victoria Stilwell b4 Cesar. There are a lot of good clips on youtube. I would def. watch It's Me Or The Dog with Victoria for starters. Very informative!
