Cool Answered: Can someone please identify this weird looking thing on my minpins mouth?

So she has had this weird thing on her mouth. If someone could identify it, that would be awesome. It almost looks like its growing off her whisker. My mother thinks its a mole.

Image is in Attachments and thank you Corky/Max

My Corky had a similar thing (but not as big) on the rim of his eyelid (bottom part). Not sure what it was --vet never made much to do about it when he saw it. If you will put this in your browser: dog/black growth on muzzle-- you will see many sites to click on--also put dogs/skin papillomas. I am thinking it is considered a skin tag but there are a lot of different things as you will find out if you put the above words in your browser. One link I will leave you: Dog Skin and Hair Problems | NZYMES.COM

I wanted to post you also to get your post to 'the front' again, otherwise a lot of members may not see it again. Maybe someone else has seen this kind of growth before now that they can see your picture!

Looks like maybe a skin tag? I would keep an eye on it and if it starts to get bigger or if it looks irritated I would recommend going to see your vet to have it looked at. Hope this helps you.

My lab has had one of these by her eye, the vet said it was just a skin tag type of thing, very normal. Depending on their location they can be very simple, or complicated to remove. My lab's is on her tearduct so its a complicated procedure. But your minpin's location doesnt seem too difficult!

it does look like a skin tag , but has it been there for long ? or have you just noticed it ? . The reason i as is that i had a dog with a simalar thing on his face and it was actualy a tick he had picked up from long grass , i put TCP on it it hand it died and fell off.

It's a skin tag. You have to have them surgically removed. They are pretty harmless, though.
