Default Unanswered: introducing fireworks

Hey all.. so this weekend there should be a lot of fireworks since its July 4th weekend. This will be my puppy, Ella's first time experiencing fireworks. Is there anything i can do to make it so she doesnt become frightened? I just dont want her to totally freak out if i can do something to help. Any suggestions will be helpful. My hubby and i will be staying home so we will be with her and we wont force her to go outside or anything like that. Thanks for your help!

There are a lot of things you can do! Make sure early in the day you give her an extra long walk and lots of play time so when it's time for fireworks she's not so wound up and more calm. You can also make sure she's in a room with you and your husband where she's comfortable and has her favorite items with her.. toys blankets etc... If you want to try to introduce her this weekend before, try putting on a video of fireworks or something and see how she reacts. Has she shown any fear when its thundering?

That's a good sign that she does fine with thunder. Usually I find that dogs afraid of thunder have a tougher time with fireworks as well. Not always but usually! So I hope your pup does well this 4th of July. It's good you'll be with her!
