I was wondering what u guys would suggest for my dog. I take my dog, Ella to my sister in laws house several times a week for a playdate- my sister in law has 4 dogs and they all love to play. So heres my problem: My dog is allergic to something in her yard bc everytime we go her eyes get all red and puffy. Her skin gets real itchy also, but her skin doesnt look red or anything. It goes away in about 3 hours after we get home. Is there anything i could give her to help with the allergies? Ive heard of ppl giving there dogs benedril but i am not sure how safe it is for dogs, and i wouldnt give it to her til i talk to my vet but i was just curious what u guys would suggest. i prefer to do a natural remedy if possible. But i do feel like the allergies are bad enough where i need to do something. I really dont want to stop taking her there, she LOVES going there so much!!!

I actually have my Ella scheduled for a vet. appt. today for her annual heartworm test, and bordetella and i was going to ask my vet. but i didnt know if there might be a natural remedy u would suggest? Thanks for ur help!

While you should still check with your vet I've always given my dog with the vets approval Benedryl...It's one milligram per lb of body weight...I always start out lower though since some dogs are more sensitive then others..For instance my Akita could've had six 25mg capsules but I started him out at 2 and it made him a bit sleepy but it worked just fine.
