Has your pup had 2 rounds of shots? If so you need to teach him to potty outside...If you have to use the pads then make sure you give a treat or tons of praise when he uses them...Are you crate training? At 10 wks your not going to have much luck as it is rather young to housebreak..

Whenever he pees on the floor wipe it up with the pee pad,set him on it and tell him "you potty here"...IMO using the pads only teaches them peeing in the house is ok...Crate training is best for housebreaking!

FYI...I'm a trainer and every Yorkie owner I've had their biggest complaint was potty training, your baby though is to young to expect him to get the idea...For every month old they are they can only hold it a max of 2 hr.s...Another good tip is to regulate his water...Don't leave it down so he can have it any time he wants...

My Akita is a little over 4 mths and housebroken but I still regulate his water so I know when he needs to pee...

How old was the pup when you got him?

Sounds like he is a perfectly normal puppy. People who say their dogs are fully toilet trained by 12 weeks are just very good at reading their dog's body language.

You need to be proactive and spot the times when he is about to "go". Ideally he should be taken outside but if he hasn't had his jabs and you don't have an outside area where he can be safe from other dogs/animals then you have no alternative. You may find it easier to use pads in a pen or in a box so you can put him in the right place rather than just leaving them on the floor and expecting him to find them.

Yeah that sounds pretty normal for a puppy his age. Is there a specific reason you are training with pee pads? I personally have never been a fan, they just teach the dog its okay to go to the bathroom in the house. It's going to take a lot of work and patience to get housebreaking down as with all puppies!

your doing great and so is ur puppy!! Ur pup is still very young. Just keep being consistent and monitoring the dogs food and water intake and the dog will be housebroken soon enough! Good luck!

Yeah I'm doing the pee pads because I'm probably moving to an APT. Also, I didnt really want him around the grass because of fleas and that stuff.

Then he should have had 2 rounds of shots....I know you're worried about fleas and stuff but there is stuff you can get to prevent that...You really need to work on training him to potty outside...Not to mention dogs/puppies need fresh air and need to learn their surroundings!
