Cool Unanswered: What mix is he?

I got this puppy five weeks ago from a shelter. I was told that he could be a lab/collie mix. After having him for a few weeks and doing some research, he seems to have other traits that make me question what he could be. He has double dew claws and the marks on his chest suggest Bernese. I could be way off though and am asking for any input that you may have as to what he likely is. Does he have telltale signs that I may not be aware of?

Thanks !

Talking Welcome to the forum!

Maybe some Border Collie. Your pup is still young and will change in looks till adult. May change completely!. Don't know how big he is going to get but a Bernese Mountain Dog male can range in 85 to 110 #!

Will give you a link to a good site that shows all kinds of breeds along with descriptions:
Dog Breed Info Center®, DBI
Just click on All Breeds at top of the page

I would suggest these breeds to look up for starters:
Border Collie
Australian Shepherd
Labrador Retriever
Bernese Mountain Dog
(Shetland Sheepdog-Sheltie)
and any other breed you might like to see!

Very good looking pup! Name?

There are only a few breeds that carry the double dew-claw trait, Great Pyrenees and Beauceron are a couple. Being that this is still a pup and does not appear to be near 6 to 8 months of age, there is no real way at this point until it starts to develop its adult body. We would only be guessing.
