Unanswered: Dog hasn't peed since this morning! Help!
Hi,
my newly adopted pug Harley spent the night with her daddy and he took her on a walk this morning, she peed and had a bowel movement. She hasn't peed since then or eaten since yesterday afternoon. I've taken her on a short walk and out about four times since she got here and she hasn't peed, even though I gave her water after our walk. Is this normal? Her former owner said she was housebroken, and she hasn't used it in the house since we brought her home. My main concern is wondering if she is holding it for some reason, which I know would be a source of discomfort for her. Is this a normal problem?

How old is she? How long have you had her?
Some adult bitches can go for long periods (6/7 hours) in the day without needing to pee.
If you haven't had her long perhaps you haven't found a surface that she is comfortable with. My parents' dog will only have a bowel movement on grass - nothing else will do.
How much/how often is she drinking? Is water available all the time? If you don't think she is drinking enough then tempt her with ice cubes, maybe some honey in the water, anything to get the fluid into her.

Our oldest will hold it for 24 hours sometimes. She hates going out. But she never goes in the house. And she will hold it for days if it's raining out. I think the above person might have it right that maybe the puppy won't go if it doesn't feel comfy enough. Is there any way you can tie it out and go inside to watch? Maybe it feels a little shy about going in front of people.

Her former owner said that she is around 1 year old and has had puppies before. Yes I have water available. She drinks after she goes for walks. She used the restroom the (Thursday) first night we got her, she scratched my boyfriend to make him take her out. Then right away she did her business outside. The next morning he took her for a walk and she urinated right when he took her out. He said she used the restroom one more time that afternoon. I took her for a walk and out a few more times that night hoping she'd relieve herself before I went to bed. This morning at eleven I took her for a walk hoping she'd have some business to do. She didn't, even after I sat and waited for her. She rolled around in the grass though. I'll try to get her to drink more water.

She went to the restroom! I let her out before a bath and she did her business, and she had a bowel movement on our walk this evening. The only thing now is she's not eating, but I gave her a Milkbone after I cleaned her wrinkles.
Thanks for the tips.
