I have a yellow lab as well, and two of their favorite activities are licking and jumping! For my lab, we would have people ignore her when they came into the house and keep their backs to her if she jumped. Also, if they were to give her any attention, we make her sit down before any attention is given. Making her be calm before she receives attention. It worked for us! Eventually she learned she had to sit in order for people to pet her. Also, with the licking I'm not sure!

Default used treats and toys

We had the same problem with our rescued pup last year. We made him calm down before he got any attention. Then we used toys and played with him to wear him out.
