Default Unanswered: canola oil??

So i recently was reading an article about canola oil and it was saying how bad it is for dogs and humans too. I was just curious what u guys thought about canola oil. I feed my dog a raw diet so she doesnt get this but im a dork and actually like doing research and i discovered that a lot of dry dog foods contain canola oil. Some of the brands are supposedly pretty decent food... for example i noticed wellness and solid gold among other containing canola oil. what are ur thoughts?

I feed raw too and I also have no use for it--for me or the dog. I don't like any of the cooking oils as they all turn rancid very quickly--not olive oil but don't like the taste! I prefer butter to all cooking oils/fats--for myself, lol, not the dog. I checked out what Snopes had to say on the canola oil. Click on this link:snopes.com: Canola Oil and Rape Seed

It appears to not be as bad as what is on the net--But I will pass on it so just 'Pass Me The Butter Please!'

I avoid canola oil because it is genetically modified, but mostly because of the way Monsanto does business. I also stick to butter but will use olive oil or sunflower oil, almost anything that is not corn or canola.
