First and foremost, the pup is only 6 weeks which means there is no way it has been properly weaned ie: socialized yet. Far too early to have been taken. Secondly, at 10 months a male is an immature teenager and is never a good idea to have with such an underage puppy. Mounting is to be expected whether the pup is male or female.

I agree-6 weeks is way to young to have a puppy away from its littermates...any particular reason you got the puppy so young? Any chance to bring the puppy back to its litter for 2 more weeks? They learn such valuable social lessons from their littermates that is impossible to duplicate once they are separated...

Also, is the 10 month old dog neutered? That might possibly help as well-although mounting is often not a sexually-driven behavior, but rather a sign of dominance, neutered dogs are often calmer and better with other dogs than unneutered. As a general rule, it's always a good idea to neuter or spay puppies by 6 months old.

Although I personally think Am Staff's often make wonderful pets and have a terribly undeserved reputation, I would still be cautious about how he is behaving around the young puppy-make sure you keep a close eye on them, and never leave them alone unsupervised-or at least not until they are much older and have totally proven themselves trustworthy with each other.

I'd get the older one fixed. And I'd take the puppy back to it's mommy. A puppy shouldn't be seperates from it's mother before tha age of 11 weeks. That is where they learn most of their manners from, like not nipping and not going pee or poo where it sleeps. 6 weeks is just too young. It would be like telling a 2 year old child that they are all grown up and they need to move out of the house and find a job. I would contact the breeder and take the puppy back for another 5 weeks at least.

Get that boy dog fixed. It is okay for him to be a bit rough with the girl. There will be a few fights to find out who's the boss. My 2 boy dogs still fight a bit though but the younger one doesn't want to ever. If he already is fixed I would just leave them. I introduced my male puppy to a 7 year old dog that hates cats and dogs. They live in peace now. Hope my advice works.
