From what I understand, a blue eye probably means Alaskan

when i took her to the dog trainer she said that the blue eye is a characteristic of either a heeler, a malamute, or an Australian shepherd. we ruled out malamute so again we are still not sure...thank you for the suggestion.

I don't know who you talked to about Malamutes... but...Malamutes don't have blue eyes period. Huskies are the only one from that region who have the blue eye trait.
Blue eyed Malamutes will be disqualified in conformation shows, as they would not be a purebred Malamute, but mixed with perhaps a Siberian Husky.
The only way to know for sure what she is would be by seeing her parents or having her DNA tested. I would recommend a DNA test if you really want to know, but she's official a mutt no matter how you put it. :]

She's a very attractive dog. You can get a blue eye in just about any breed. I've seen blue eyed Jack Russells - not that it is likely she has Jack Russell in her of course LOL!
One thing that worries me - is she actually tied to that basket she is lying in? Please don't do that - she could twist herself round and break a leg or even strangle herself.

as cigwyllt noted, the blue eyed trait in most breeds is simply a genetic issue and does not mean that it is from a specific breed. It is just a genetic flaw that can occur. There is no breed called Alaskan. For that matter there is no breed called Alaskan Husky either. The Alaskan Husky is simply a term to define dogs commonly bred for pulling sleds and can be made up of different breeds, much depending on the breeder.
As for the Malamute, blue eyes are not a common trait in this breed.
Heelers, Aussies and Siberian Huskies do carry the blue eyed trait as a normality. But again, the blue eye does not necessarily mean that your dog has any of these breeds in it since it can also be cause by a genetic mutation.

to Cigwyllt- the pictures of her in the crate where she is tied were taken before i got her..which is one of the reasons why i insisted on getting her. thank you all for your thoughts...she is a really good girl she just needs some basic training. the plan for her is to become my boys service dog. I see a lot of potential in her and she is really eager to please. I know that she is a true mutt but I just wanted to see if anyone here could think of any breeds that she may look like expecially wondering if anyone can see any boxer in her??

Not to disagree in any way with anyone--Just quoting from my breeds book: SIBERIAN huskies--Mismatched eyes are common.
I don't think there is prob. any Siberian in your dog! Just adding to the info on type of Husky and that this breed is prone to 2 different colors for the eyes.
Sorry, Yogi--In rereading your post, guess you as much said the same thing!

Confusedmomma - so glad you have taken her away from that situation.
I don't know the breed well but could she have Rhodesian Ridgeback in her makeup? Don't see any ridge but she has the colouring and the black around the muzzle.

hmmm interesting..that breed did not even cross my mind. I was thinking she may have some german shepherd in her because of the way her tail looks but for some reason i cannot seem to get a good picture of her tail to add on her. but that is actually just a guess so i am not sure...she definitely is the "truest" mutt i have ever met. I can almost always pick out the dominate breed in a dog but I cannot with her and I think that is why it is bugging my the most. I specialize in wildlife biology so animals are my thing but I just cannot figure her out haha...oh well she is still cute and great with the boys.

The blue-eyed thing is a genetic flaw. I have seen saint bernards with blue eyes. They are disqualified in conformation but it still happens. The feet on your dog are huge. Is there any type of mastiff in there? I disagree with rhodesian. Ganerally dogs with rhodesian in them woulf have some sign of a ridge. How old is your dog? With the size of those feet, I think your dog is going to be massive. Too small for either a lab or a boxer. But it could be a boxer/mastiff mix or a lab/mastiff mix. My god-daughter's dog looked like that when it was a puppy and her dog is part english mastiff and part boxer. Now it's a horse.

That may be true with Ridgies you have seen and it may well be different in the States but here in the UK it is all too common that pups born without a ridge are culled. I know someone with dogs from excellent show lines that are completely smooth. Thankfully there are ethical breeders now who will pass them on at cost as pet quality but that could go some way to explaining why you haven't seen smooth Ridgies.

so I am not thinking that Luna is part Mastiff I also do not think she is going to get "that" big. the reason why I say this is because i have a Short haired Golden retriever who's paws at 7 weeks were the size of Luna's at 5 months here is a comparison pic. I know there are sceptics to the actuality of there being short haired golden retrievers but I did some digging and proved it to be true plus i know the mom and dad of the dogs and that there is no way another dog got mixed in somewhere. anyways Simba is now almost 90 pounds and only ten months old and at 5 months he was 50 pounds Luna is under 30pounds...
