I found this dog running in the streets and took him so he would not get injured. I put up posters and notices on craigslist, but no one claimed him. He is now part of my family and his name is Apollo Creed. My Shih Tzu (Rambo) and Apollo have bonded and they love each other, except Rambo is still the HDIC (head dog in charge).
If anyone has information on Apollo and can tell me what breed he might be, I'd really appreciate it.
I've looked at different breeds and I think he is a mix of portugese water dog (because of his size, the markings on his chest and paws, and his beautiful black hair) and maybe some sort of spaniel (the curly hair and big paws). Please review the photos and give your input.

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

By the way: the photo of Apollo with the long hair is the day I brought him home. The others are my original haircut and the neatest one is when he came from the groomer.

have you taken him to a vet to see if he has a micro chip?

I am guessing Schnauzer and Cocker Spaniel mix.

thanks, corky/max. i don't think that is the same breed at Apollo, but they eyes certainly look similar.
