Answered: Be a responsible owner
Be a Responsible Pet Guardian
•Think about the responsibilities involved before adopting a pet.
•Be committed to caring for your pet for its entire life which can be as long as 10-20 years.
•Spay or Neuter your pet - they will be healthier and have fewer behavioral problems.
•Provide nutritious food and fresh water daily.
•Provide monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention medicine.
•Use a collar with identification tag or microchip on your pet.
•Give your pet love, exercise and attention daily.
•Take the time and patience to train your pet using praise and training classes.
•Provide alternative care when gone for long periods of time or on vacation.
•Groom your pet as needed.
•Obey local pet ordinances.
•Provide shelter with a comfortable, quiet, dry place to sleep or rest when needed.
•Take your pet to a veterinarian for regular check-ups, vaccinations and medical care when ill or injured.
.
I thought this was an important read especially for new/first time dog owners.

You're confusing me Lunar all though that's not hard to do...You asked if there was exceptions to Tuesdays and Saturdays...Not sure what that has to do with being a responsible owner so I thought you were referring to what we were joking about on Natties thread.

Unless Luna perhaps was thinking it might be worth considering our seniors discount card to be avail for use on Tuesdays and Saturdays at a veternarian....or for a discount on worming tablets......lol
Sorry ree
Its an important thread you have started, and not meant to be any sort of joke, so to put it back on track......
For anyone considering a dog, or any pet. The points ree raised are really important if you want to consider yourself a responsible pet owner. Providing good food, water and shelter is not it, its a daily commitment to walking, caring for, training and ensuring your pet is the best possible canine citizen
