I like the idea of naming a solid coloured dog "Spot" or a black dog called "Snowy". I also like the idea of a rescue dog called "Junk" - a book that I used to read with my grandmother about a little pup who foiled a gang of burglars.

I always fancied having a weimeraner called "Havoc" - "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!"

Also, as a very small child, I was once knocked over by a black lab owned by a local celebrity. The dog was called "Nofuss" - because that was what they kept telling him when he was a pest - No fuss! My mother was star struck by the celeb and I fell in love with the dog and his name LOL!!

Can you tell that over the years I have spent rather too much time thinking about dogs!

There was a tv show(or movie---long time ago-I forgot!) that had a dog called Useless---I would never name any dog that---Lol, Now don't you call Buster that, Luna!--and I feel sorry for the dog that would be named that!----But at the time (and I was just a kid then) it sounded kind of Seems like movies and tv shows come up with a lot of great names but I can't think of any other right now. I would like the idea of a dog being named for it's astrology sun sign but not many of the signs sound like a name for a dog--Can you imagine one called Cancer!

Don't know about Cancer but if he was bad tempered he could be Crabby LOL.

There was a drama series here not so long ago "Monarch of the Glen" and there was a springer spaniel called "Useless" - quite an apt name as he was responsible for the death of his master by retrieving a hand grenade.

Strangely, I really like old fashion people names on dogs but I can't get myself to name any of my dogs that way. Some of my favorites are Fred, Gracie, Frank...

My moms Lab/Chow mix is named Trouble and boy does it fit him and when I was a teenager a friend of mine had a Great Dane named D O G (DOG). I always did get a kick out of that one..

I always like original names and being I deal with Akita's they're always Japanese names...I had an Akita in the early 90's and his name was Honjo and his mom was Tonka and dad was Dingo.

In my case most are rescues so they came with names of which a few I never would have given.
Peter, Snoopy, Duncan & Howard. Others came with creative names, Quinn Hooker or Quinnie for short. Whipser which I like. I named a registered purebred Papillon (daughter of Quinnie) that was given to me Blackhawks I Love Lucy or Lucy for short. Conventional names of some of my rescues seems to be more in line. Dottie, Reba (was originally Rhea) Moxie, Cinnamon (which I already had a cat with the same name. Jade (which I already had a bird with the same name).
My breeding Pinscher females Blackhawks All that Jazz (Jasmine), Blackhawks Bluehen Amie. Missy's Peppie Lil Daniel (Podo for short. Named after his grandfather Daniel great aunt Missy and Peppie. Tayzer is Podo's younger brother from another litter. That last litter from Kay and Manly so his name is Blackhawks KayMan's last Tayze. The Pinscher boys are Blackhawks Emperor Carlos Santana and Blackhawks King Jerry Garcia. The Papillon girls Blackhawks Lil Miss Sable aka Sable and Blackhawks Miss Chantilly Lace aka Tilly. Others are fitting the dogs such as Bambi since she looks like a small deer. The IG's came to me with their names. Isabella aka Bella and Charlie.
The German Pinscher is Blackhawks Big Red Zekial aka Zeke. Then there is Lili, Keileigh, Misty, Tascha, Blackhawks Lil Princess Shakira. Just a wide scope that keeps me busy enough.

Problem is, I am running out of names. I have pretty much decided to keep the runt in Tayzers and Keleighs litter. He is 6 weeks old and just broke 1lbs. I thought Goliath would fit....

That would be perfect for a runt - something for him to grow into. But watch out if you ever have a David LOL!

Yeah, that's true but it does give him something to aspire to.
