Unanswered: Anyone ever used or heard of this dog food?
As most of you know--I am adopting a rescue dog. I feed raw and some home cooking to my other dog--Max. I can not start right in feeding the new girl this way so I need a good dog food--Please don't suggest any other brands!!--Only want info on this one--your experience with it if you have used it or know of someone who has. Also have you ever heard of it and where you saw it? I think maybe it is carried only through feed and grain type places and of course the internet or mail. It sounds very good and it is carried at a couple feed and grain stores in my area. I think it is prob. cheaper than a lot of other 'good/okay' dog foods too because of where it is sold possibly for 1 reason. The person I called at the feed and grain place here was telling me about $25-26 for about 40 lbs I think.--Don't quote me on it! Anyway it sound like a very good kind--no corn and other good features---Also has the taurine added (If you have read my posts before about my Corky and his Dilated Cardiomyopathy--You will know why I like this taurine added) Lol, I am prob. not going to need a whole 40 lb bag and I think it does come in 17.5 or so lbs. Here is a link on the dog food I am talking about: Black Gold Ultimate Adult Corn Free Chicken
Note that the ingredients are listed at the very bottom of the page so be sure to scroll all the way down.

Our local mom and pop pet store sells it. It's actually pretty good, but Luna can't eat it. Your dog would do great on it. Go to their website and write them an e-mail asking for a sample. i think you may even be able to find a store near you that carries it by looking online and I'm not sure, but I think you can order it online too and have it delivered for $8.00.

Thanks for so quick of a reply. Yeh, I did check out the website for stores near me and there is one just 3 miles or so from me and one in my home town that is 13 miles away--I haven't had time to check out the home town place yet but the one close to me hasn't got that particular series and variety but can prob order it for me---Have to wait until Monday to have him order it but will check out the other place 1st (call them)--Have to wait till Monday to do that too. I am pretty well set-up for getting it---Just wanted to see what others had to say good about it. The person that I am yacking with--that is taking care of my little girl (Be glad when I decide what to call her for sure--torn both ways on Honey or Willow!) has said that it sounds good to her too--but she had never heard of it. I think I am going to tell my daughter to try feeding her Boxer mix that food. She feeds a fairly bad brand and it is prob. higher priced too. Lol, if everything is what I think about this Black Gold--good and cheap also---Hope others may look into it too! Can't beat that --a better dog food and cheaper too!
And that is a good idea about asking for a sample!

OH! Guess what! We met a blue tick hound at the dog park named Willow. He was a TINY little thing, but he wasn't a puppy. He was just very short and very petite but he had a VERY big voice. His baying was so cute though. He had to go up and sniff every dog and then bay at them before moving to the next dog.
