Unanswered: How to get rid of mommy stray dog and get stray puppy?
I am living in India .
Yesterday a stray dog has came to our shed in backside of our house and gave birth to 8 puppies.
So i thinking of taking one puppy.I am afraid to go near it but i want to get rid of the stray dog and get the puppy.
So what do i do?
Also i want to know which type of dog is that..means which breed it is?So how to know that,is there any site which shows pictures along with its breed names?
Also after getting the puppies, what all things do i have to do to care them?
Thanks In Advance

You are not their mother therefore there is nothing you should do but leave them alone. You are not equipped to feed new born puppies, that is the mothers job. Until they are at least 8 weeks of age based on the circumstances you have no business going near them. Just leave them be.
Let the mother do her job. After that time you can pick a puppy and find homes for the others. If you try getting the mother to leave or preventing her from getting to her pups, the pups will die.

As Yogi said, you need to leave the mother with the pups. She is best placed to care for them in every respect and it would be foolish to try and remove a puppy from her, and even more foolish to try and raise it yourself.
If you want to keep a puppy from this litter and find good homes for the others, and the mother, you should take time to research how to care for the mother, feed her well, care for her and build a bond with her and the puppies so that they are well socialised and tame and able to go to good homes.

If there is one firgure of speech commonly used when referring to animals that offends me to the core of my being, it is, "getting rid." You get rid of garbage or old stuff that you no longer want. You do not "get rid" of a living thing. Am I the only one who absolutely hates this reference?

You do not "get rid" of an animal. I bet if you feed mommy doggy really good food, she wil become your friend and then you can have the mommy dog and the puppies for pets. You do not "get rid" of mommy doggy. Would you like it if someone "got rid" of your mother?
