Cool Unanswered: 5 yr old suddenly not housebroken anymore??

We neutered our now 5-year-old "pet bull" when he was a puppy at the vet's recommendation. He was extremely easy to housebreak, and we have NEVER had a problem with him. He is definitely a 60 lb. lap dog, sleeps in our bed, and has a spayed female companion to play and wrestle with that he LOVES.

I work from home, and for 5 years now when he has to potty he will come and get me. He pokes me with his paw or barks at me and we go outside. Sometimes we go when I need a break from work, even if he hasn't asked. Needless to say, on top of our daily 2-mile walks... he gets plenty of opportunities to go potty outside and has always taken advantage of that.

Lately (past few weeks or so), he just pees wherever he so pleases inside. On the couch, the bookcase, my kitchen table... doesn't matter to him. Our younger female does not have this problem, so I don't think it's a retaliation thing to anything she's doing. He'll do it right in front of us, and doesn't appear to feel guilty about it (as he did when he was in the process of being housebroken as a puppy).

Is this a medical thing, or does he just have an attitude problem all of a sudden?

If nothing else has changed I would say a vet trip is in order. He could have a water infection.

Whenever a dog is doing something that is out of character or unusual to their normal behavior the first thing that should be done is to take them to the vet and rule out any health issues....It's very possible he has a UTI...

If the vet clears him then you know for whatever reason you're most likely dealing with something behavioral,
