Unhappy Unanswered: 5 month old puppy diarrhea and partially town ACL

My puppy Marcy has had diarrhea for about 3-4 days now it used to b in bigger masses but its now just mucusy and orange and gloppy and watery, she also barfed once and it was something that she mustve ate idk what it is but it was like a round black thing and with it came a little bit of yellow liquid, she doesnt chew too much but ive seen her eat cat poop and that bother her before so could it be that? she has also chewed through the black backup strap that attaches to the bottom of the back pack but it didnt look as if she ate any part of it because it looks like a clean cut thats just a lil shredded.
Along with that she recently got diagnosed saying that she has a partially torn acl in her left knee and will probably have need surgery ive read a lot n this subject about older dogs but never anything about younger ones and by the way she is a border collie mixed with ausie, collie, and jack russel but looks mostly like a border collie and is 28-30lbs and obv. still growing

Have not the time right now to do any 'research' on the subject but wanted to give this quick reply---Please make sure Marcy does not get dehydrated----This could easily happen with such a young puppy and all that diarrhea and barfing! It could be life threatening very fast. See that she is drinking plenty of water. Maybe you should at least call and talk to your vet. Put appropriate words in your browser--puppy diarrhea----puppy dehydration---and any other words you can come up with to find info.

There could be many reasons why she has the diarrhea. One you don't want it to be is pancreatitis (You might put that word and dog or puppy in your browser too). This alone would be reason enough to see a vet now as it can lead into permanent damage and also dog could develop diabetes or exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. (more words to put in your browser--Be sure to use the word dog in all your searches). One quote from my home vet bookogs with acute pancreatitis require hospitalization to treat shock and dehydration.

Hope it is not something serious but if this hasn't stopped very soon I think a vet is called for. If she gets other symptoms especially. WATER WATER for sure!

Keep us posted!!

Unhappy

thx for that info, she had diarrhea more often a when it first started and the barf was very small it was just enough liquid to barf up the weird item that could be causing this and yes i am making sure she gets lots of liquids, she just got spayed yesterday so she wont be very active for a good two weeks so that im hoping helps the problem and will hopefully stop her from getting dehydrated and she deff is drinking water, my poor pup she is having such a hard time with things being the diarrhea, half torn acl and spay surgery yesterday

oh and she has a appt. with her vet two weeks from now once the arthritis pills r up to see how she is and to tlk more about what shes going to need to fix her poor knee

i looked at the sites u gave and the diarrhea wouldnt b from that cuz the first pill she had was this morning and even though she had bad diarrhea earlier this afternoon it has been like that for a few days now and as of 30 mins ago it was still diarrhea but it wasnt at all as watery as before even though it was still orange and wasnt completely solid it deff wasnt watery either and im going to keep an eye out for these symptoms and she was only prescribed for two weeks of meds and im scheduled for a vet visit when the pills r up and ill ask them about this as well and she had blood drawn before her spay yesterday and if she would have developed pancreatitis (however its spelled) would that have shown up in the blood test?

also the pill box thing says give two once daily for a week and then one once daily for a week and its only 25mg. but being today is my first day on it instead of giving her two i forgot and only gave her one so shes at a very low dosage and she never had a shot of it like most of these cases have and she young so hopefully shell b fine im just gonna give her one daily for for two weeks and see how she does so im putting her ar the lowest dose for precaution
