We currently have a 12 week old male Shih Tzu and we want to get an 8 week old Great Dane puppy next weekend. The Shih Tzu has had 2 sets of shots, and of course, not his rabies shot yet for a few more weeks. Is this is ok? I mean.. I am sure we're not the only couple to get two puppies at the same time, right?

Also, will having two male dogs increase the chance of territory marking in the house? We do plan on getting them neutered when they are of age, but until then.. will it be a spray-fest in our house?

I don't know if it increases marking or not, but I do have 2 uncut males in my home. They are both going to go get cut in February. I don't have any marking from either of them. But I also make sure they both know I'm boss, no questions asked. There is no reason for them to think that they need to vie for territory or for any other reason dogs mark. All of the territory is mine.

Dogs do not "spray",cats do. As long as you are consistent with housebreaking and nueter both before they reach sexual maturity you should have no problems. I have 14 dogs-inside dogs-and do not have the issues.
