Unhappy Unanswered: 2 alpha males...father and son

Ok. So the father of the male puppy (15 months now) are having BIG alpha issues. It just started about 2 weeks ago where they would suddenly break out in full fights, biting each other terribly and they would only stop when I would pull one from the other. They use to play so great together!! After calling the Vet, we took the puppy in to get fixed. The father is fixed already. The moment I arrived home from the vet after the neuter, they both wanted to go at it again! I am so stressed over this. WHAT DO I DO?

Hi Kay. In a situation like this you're best bet is to look for a professional dog behaviorist or trainer who is well versed in dog aggression. There's likely to be a lot of body language & triggers going on but you may not be seeing them. Someone who has an eye to catch them in person is what you need. Once they can pin point what is happening they should be able to guide you on how to handle the situation. Good luck!

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"
