Default Unanswered: New Puppy

MY new puppy is not sleeping though the night. I can't tell you how many weeks she is. Cause she was found at a park with three other puppies. To me she looks to be two months. The puppy is on a schedual we follow with crate training. We put her down at 11:00 PM and she would sleep until 5 AM. But now she is up three to four times a night. We do tire her out before we put her to bed but she is still up. To me this is a big turn around.

How long have you had the puppy? When you say she's up 3-4 times a night what is she doing?

The first week we brought our puppy home he cried the first 4 nights, that just about tore my heart out. I didn't let him out to pee or anything, after a few nights he realized we weren't getting him out. He is crate trained and goes in easily and he loves it. He has the security now that we are his family and we're not going anywhere. I've read different responses as far as what to do with a puppy that young some say let them out when they cry to eliminate some say not to. My neighbor has a 10 year old lab she still has to take pee twice a night. My jack is almost 6 months old and he holds it all night.

I have both a 10 year old yellow lab and an almost 4 year old mini dachshund. When they were both puppies they would do the same thing with the crying, wanting to go outside during the night etc... I used to let the dachshund out once during the middle of the night (just because she is so small and needed to go out more often) but after a few months she started sleeping through the night. I'm sure when your dog gets on more of a routine and grows older, he will stop as well.
