At one month old he shouldn't be away from his mother and the rest of the litter. There is no way anyone can tell what he might be at such a young age - with or without a photo.

[QUOTE=Perfectly Unperfect;98192] i dont knw wat kind of puppie i have hes one month old he has a black mouth and the rest is brown mixed with black my friends say its a german shepherd can someone help me out? i tryd to put up a picture of him but its not goin through.
What are you doing with a one month old puppy. Take it back to its mother now. I cannot believe anyone would even think that this is normal. The pup has not been totally weaned, not even close. In addition, at that age there is no way it has even received one of its puppy vaccinations. The pup should never be removed until it is at least 8 to 10 weeks of age.
In addition, there is no way for anyone to tell you what a one month old pup is. You don't look anything like you did when you were a month old and this holds true for dogs. When it reaches 8 or 9 months old then ask. If it lives that long. Get it to a vet promptly to ensure it gets what it needs if you cannot get it back to its mother.

So have you taken him to a vet? Do you know how to feed an unweaned pup?

that is nice of you but what best for you would have been to take him to a vet instead of concerning yourself as to what breed he is.
There is an order of things and in this case the last thing to worry about is the puppies breed. First thing, get it to a vet and find out what they recommend you do to keep this pup alive, since that is your goal, is it not?

No one is saying that you should have left him there but what we have both asked you is whether or not he has seen a vet. IF your puppy is only a month old (and there is no way to know if you are right about his age without a vet's opinion) you need support and advice from a vet to care for him properly.

The best thing to do would be to get the pup to a vet to check for possible health problems. It is unusual to find a dog so young separated from its mother, unless the pup was purposely dumped or the mother dog abandoned it because it was sickly. Most of the time, vets offer free exams for new puppies. The vet could also give you a better idea about its breed, and age.
You should be diligent in your efforts to find the owner of the pup and it's mother. Puppies learn important skills while being raised with their litter-mates, such as bite inhibition; Mothers milk is also the best nutrition for this puppy right now. I hope you had at-least purchased some milk replacer and a bottle for the pup at this point. Kibble or wet food would not be appropriate for the pup, as its primary source of nutrition. It can be hard on the puppies digestive system and lead to constipation or diarrhea.
Definitely post found fliers in the area the puppy was rescued, local grocery stores, and vet clinics. Call your local shelters and alert them that you have found a puppy, leave a description of the puppy with them and a way to contact you. If you would like to keep the puppy, and the owner is found, you may be able to work out adopting the puppy from the owner; Since you are probably responsible for the pup being alive in the first place. However, it is best you collect the puppy at an appropriate age.

Tuesday? That's a long time to have to wait for an appointment. Can you find another vet and get him seen as an emergency?

Fair enough. If you are confident about raising an unweaned puppy I'll leave you to it. I had assumed because you were asking a question that any experienced owner would know could not be answered that you would also be inexperienced in caring for a pup that should be with its mother. I know that if I was in your position I would be seeking advice from anyone who would help me to keep him alive rather than worrying about what breed he might be. Sorry if I have offended you.
