Unanswered: strange behaviour
hi there,
just a question, recently my collie lab x has started acting quite strangely.
his appetite is great, he gets loads of exercise, walks of up to 2-3 mls twice daily including regular trips to the lake district.
it`s just that lately when where @ home he`s going to bed more often(his bed is upstairs in our room) whereas when we`re in the house he usually crashes on the chair or behind the door, he`s also looking up @ the lights in the living room as though he`s seen something. i know this sounds strange but he`s normally downstairs with us until we go to bed then he comes with us and goes in his bed.
any feed back would be appreciated
cheers bazil

any time a dogs behavior changes such as this it is time for a visit to the vet for a complete health check. Dogs, like people are very routine oriented once they have a set routine it will pretty much stay with them. When they alter this on their own, it generally implies there is something wrong.

How old is he? Age can effect him too. If he's a senior doggie, he isn't going to be as active.

Does he seem to have a hard time seeing? Looking up at the light kind of makes me wonder about his eye sight and then going upstairs out of the way---Maybe his vision is failing. Are his eyes (or either) looking pretty dry? Best to take notes of all the different behavior and go to the vet with it. How long since he had a wellness exam--How old is he? Is it time to do a routine blood work?
