Default Unanswered: looking for advise on lyme disease vaccine

Hi everyone, im new to the forum & new to having a puppy and was wondering if you guys would be able to help me.. i have an 11 week old puggle and i just previously took her to the vet and the doctor mentioned giving her a lyme disease vaccine, im always weary on vaccinations and things like that and i feel like the more you read the more you dont want to give it to your puppy! i've done some researching and found mixed answers from everyone, so i was wondering how your experiences were with it and if its worth giving it to my new pup.

thanks in advance!

Smile Welcome to the forum!

I don't know what all you have read but this is a very good read: Canine Lyme Disease Vaccination and Treatment Issues Personally, I will not vaccinate my dogs if I can help it--for most unnecessary things. It sounds to me that this lyme vaccine is not very safe and may even cause the dog's death! It is stated that Lyme's disease is easily treated so why take the vaccine risk. Just be aware of signs of the disease as it is safer and easier to treat the disease in the early stages!!

New Lyme Vaccine for Dogs Introduced Be sure to read all the comments made below in this above article!!

I just reread the below link from this forum that was previously posted in here and it will tell you what you need to know!!! This is written by experts! (Pick the 1st selection when you click on the sites given!--First anyway!!
Here is the link for this subject in this forum that DougGeneration mentioned:

I was merely redirecting you, and helping you get to what you want to know at the same time. Don't take it any other way.

There Corgy provided personal views about it. I'm sure that'll help if you're not sure about it yet.

Lol, the name is CorKy, not Corgy! Sorry, but Corky is my much loved departed dog and it bothers me a little to see his name not right!

I spoke with Seigi's vet about the vaccine as well..She told me she doesn't like to give it unless there's a severe issue with tick infestation and since I don't have that problem she opted against giving it to him.
