So my husband rescued a puppy from a towing company and we have no clue what kind of dog it is. He said that there were two other dogs with ours, one looked like a rot and the other looked like an austrailian shepherd. I almost think Pete (our new puppy) looks like a beagle but I dont know, he doesnt have super long hair but its not really short either. What do you think?

Hmmm while its too soon to tell, I think he looks more like some sort of mountain dog, maybe a greater swiss mixed with some lab? How big are the paws?

They are pretty big for a little puppy

Ooooh - I love him! As Doggievogue says it is far too soon to tell what he might be - it's impossible to guess before he reaches 8 or 9 months, even then there may be so many breeds in his background you won't be able to tell. But those markings do look like a Bernese mountain dog but he could equally be a tri colour border collie. It's just a waiting game I'm afraid.
