Exclamation Answered: Help! Scared Dog!

I am in the process of moving to a new house (next door!) and my dog will not go near the new house! When we first started going over there, she would go with us but now she refuses to even go near the place. When she see's that we are going that direction, she immediately runs back to the front door of the house we are in now. Is this behavior normal or is she trying to tell me something??? Please help, I'm not sure how to handle this! She is 4yrs old.

maybe there was previously a dominant bitch at the house and her scent is still present (not saying the house smells lol)
there could be so many reasons for this is she a rescue dog ? was she badly treated before you had her .

it sounds strange but even the wrong colours and patterns can have dogs running in the opposite directions even though theye are supposedly color blind

also might sound a bit like i need to see a doctor but dogs are very sensitive to electromagnetic fields bad wiring or grouped cables can create a magnetic field and some dogs will refuse to go near that area

either one of those or she has seen a ghost just kidding lol

Hmm that is strange! I wonder if it is another dog's scent she is smelling. Maybe try bringing treats with you that she really loves and give them to her as you walk over there and get closer to the house so she associates the new house with something yummy and positive. That's all I can think of, other than giving a really good cleaning (carpets especially) when you move in to neutralize any odors.

Thank you to both of you! I will be spraying the outside of the house and shampoo'n the inside today! Hopefully this will solve the problem. We will also be looking around for any electrical issues as well.
I've never been one to use treats as an enticement but am going to go ahead and try and this as well. Any positivity that I can associate w/the new house can't hurt!
Again, thank you for your help!

Blessings,
Tabitha

p.s. maybe they will be friendly ghosts!

My dogs are so food driven, so I probably tend to jump to the treat method rather quickly Let us know how it goes!
