Question Unanswered: My dog's man fear

I rescued a small dog and could tell very quickly that she had been abused by a man. She bonds very quickly with females but has a HUGE fear of men. Especially men built like and that sound like my dad (lol). She's normally a very quiet dog but barks and growls at my dad all the time. We recently went on a trip without my dad around and she didn't have a single potty accident but as soon as we came back and she was around him she had an accident. Can anyone help me? How do I get her over her fear? She is totally perfect other than this problem.

I think you should vet or dog trainer to help her. As she was abused in past it is really hard to over come it. Take professionals help and don't force her to like your dad.

Default I'm low income

I don't have the money to pay someone to train her. I used to train dogs so obedience is easy for me to train her in. She's very smart and eager to learn however it doesn't seem to connect for her in relation to her fear of men. She just recently got fixed and the vet (female) told me that the over night care taker (male) had to call in for help when approaching her kennel. She was not aggressive but was so scared he was afraid she was going to hurt herself. I have been training her since the day I got her and she very well behaved now until a man enters the room. I've been having to keep her on a leash indoors because it's the only way I can get her to listen to me when a male is around.
