We found a puppy 1 1/2 weeks ago, he is about 8-9 weeks old now. Tonight he started acting strange. He couldn't get comfortable, was running in circles on my bed, hiding under the pillows, chewing on his feet, and kicking his back legs back (like older dogs do after they've pooped). We have flea & tick meds for the two older dogs so thought maybe he was being bothered by fleas. We gave him a flea & tick bath, dried him off. He immediately went to sleep feeling much better. About 30 min later, the strange behavior took place again. He has now jumped off the bed and is sleeping on the dog pad. What could be causing him to be so restless and kicking his back legs back like that? I checked his feet since he had been chewing on them but don't see anything to cause his behavior. Have never seen a puppy act like this especially out of the blue.

might sound random, but is he having trouble going to the bathroom at all? Maybe wipe his feet with baby wipes. He could have allergies. I have to wipe my puppy down with baby wipes everytime I take her outside otherwise she itches like crazy.

He did have a little diarrhea last night and threw up a few times. A short time later he was back to his old self, running around and causing trouble, lol. Right now he's playing tug-of-war with our 13 mos old dog and getting into things like a normal puppy. Was just so weird that he was acting like that last night.

Thank you. He only had the diarrhea that one time. He's back to his usual self. I haven't seen any of that weird behavior since that night. And no more diarrhea other than that one time. Puzzling for sure. When he goes in for his shots I'll ask the vet about it but it hasn't happened since that one night.
