Question Unanswered: what is Wesley?

I adopted this pup from A Puppy's Voice rescue when he was ten weeks old and he turned into an interesting looking fella. He is very wild, energetic, friendly, FAST, does not bark (but 'sings"), playful, and smart. He was very difficult to train as a pup and is destructive if not crated (but I LOVE him anyway!) I was wondering if anyone has ideas on what his mix may be. I was thinking Shepherd/ Basenji? He is about 45 lbs.

Another plea for guesses on what their lovely puppy may be. Pop goes the Forum rules again - You can bet a Nuke is on it`s way.

No, nuke is not on the way. Asking what mix your "dog" is does not violate the forum rules. Common sense should prevail when asking people to guess what mix an 8 or 10 or 18 week old puppy is. Because that is all it is therefore it is of no consequence. If one is serious about truly wanting to know what the mix is, then give the pup time to develop to a state of maturity where in all likelihood the OP can in most cases figure it out for themselves. At least like with this occasion, it is a "dog" not a 'Puppy". We can now see physical traits that can help in identifying more logically the breeds and have to agree, I do see GSD and possibly Basenji.

I really don't see the harm in asking a friendly question on what others think your dog may look like. I can definitely see some type of basenji/shepherd mix! I love the picture of him with the books and pen in his mouth! So cute

As Yogi was saying, the problem isn't with adult dogs like this. The problem is when people post pics of young puppies - 2 or 3 months old. They have so much growing and changing ahead it is pointless. And some people get annoyed when you try and tell them so. So the rule warning people not to ask about puppy breeds makes sense. When you have a young adult dog like this one it can be very helpful to get opinions about the breed.
