Unanswered: Help! my dog keeps weeing in the house :'(
We have a 2 year old staff cross which we rescued from a shelter a year ago. She was quick to toilet train and never soiled in the house until recently ( i mean she's had one or two before but stopped immediately). she wees in the same room and I think only at night, but the thing I don't understand is why? When she's let outside before bed (around 11pm) she always wees, and we take away her drinking bowl before bed so she doesn't drink (hoping this would fix it), there isn't anything new in the room and we've used "simple solution" stain and odour remover to stop the scent (is a dog one thats supposed to break down the enzymes in the urine) and we've put down two puppy training pads so if she did she'd go on there. But no, she does it on the carpet. why is this happening and how can I stop it. Please, other family members are going crazy and are now thinking of taking her away from me

Welcome to the Forum!
Maybe a trip to the vet to find out if there is an urinary infection?
Can you recall if there were any changes in household or other routine about the time this started happening. Be a detective---maybe something has upset your dog. Does she act insecure in any way? Have there been any new humans as well as any new animals added at that time? Has her personality changed?

Welcome to the forum, fitzie
CorkyMax is right, you should first rule out any health issues. If your dog does have a urinary tract infection, that would explain not being able to "hold" it all night.
Is she only peeing in the house at night time? And is she peeing in the same spot al the time?
Hopefully the problem will be solved soon.
All the best.

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

There weren't any changes, I mean my sister moved out but shes done that before and Indie (our dog) didn't start this weeing thing then she doesn't act insecure at all, and nothing new has been added. But i'll take her to the vet and see if it is a urine infection, thanks

yeah, only at night :/ I take her out at 11pm and again at 6am, so its about 7 hours that she has to hold it, which i quite long, i know. but i don't understand why she doesn't wee at all in the day, shes left in the house for about the same amount of time (7hrs). its not always in the exact same spot but its around that area, everytime :/
