Default Unanswered: Three year old husky pees a lot and drinks a lot

For the past week my three year old husky has been drinking a lot more than he usually does. He's also been peeing a lot more than usual as well. He's even had two accidents in the house and he hasn't done that since he was a puppy. He's been more tired as well. I was hoping if anyone could tell me if this is something I should worry about and consult a vet or is it something not to worry about?

I think a vet trip is definitely required. It could be a simple bladder infection but it could be a sign or diabetes. If he was mine I would make an appointment asap.

I agree, those signs are flags for him to be taken to a vet. Good luck!

A rolled up newspaper can be an effective training tool when used properly. For instance, use the rolled-up newspaper if your dog chews up something inappropriate or has a housebreaking accident. Bring the dog over to the destroyed object (or mess), then take the rolled-up newspaper and hit yourself over the head as you repeat the phrase,"I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG, I FORGOT TO WATCH MY DOG!"

Hope it is not kidney failure. Giving you a link done in this forum previously on kidney failure and be sure to note my post #12 about needing supplement of vitamin B complex. Excessive Water Drinking

I think you should have blood work done too--See your vet.

I realized I needed to come back in here and comment on anyone who does give the vitamin B----Do not be alarmed if your dog starts peeing 'yellower'--It is harmless and is just the color of the B vitamin going through. In fact be glad that it is yellower as this means your dog has enough Vitamin B in it's system. If it doesn't get yellower--It means your dog really needed that vitamin B and is 'using' it!!!

My dog showed these signs and it turned out she had a bladder infection. But I have heard of Huskies being diabetic as well. Might want to get them checked ASAP so you can get them on the right diet if that is the case.

Best of luck.
