Default Unanswered: VERY sick dog (dehydrated, foaming, almost died)

My brothers dog is very sick and the vet doesn't know what it is.
The dogs very dehydrated and not eating and she's on IV. She was foaming at the mouth, puking, liquid diarrhea, fever. The vet said if they brought her in any later she would have died. Any idea what this could be? Thanks

Just so you know the dog is around 6 weeks old or something like that, they just got the dog and she never had much energy when they got her.

If the vet can't make a diagnosis with all the equipment he has then no body else will be able to do it. I'm sure we suggest a huge list of possible illnesses that would cause those symptoms but if the vet doesn't know then no one else would.

I do hope the poor little thing makes a full recovery.

Cigwyllt is right. If the dog is on IV and the vet doesn't know what is wrong, then nobody here can guess.
When you say the vet doesn't know, do you mean that the results from the test are not back yet, or that they just don't know?
Also, if the pup is only 6 weeks old, that is far too early for it to be taken from it's mom.
Hope all works out.

If its only 6 months old parvo would be my best guess... but the vet should know. Alot of these symptoms could be from it getting into something, rat poison, antifreeze, ect. Good luck. Im sorry your haveing to go through this. Sick puppies arent any fun. :/

There used to be a veterinary student who was active in the forum. Does anyone know if he's still a member?

Question

Lara's mom There used to be a veterinary student who was active in the forum. Does anyone know if he's still a member?

I can't remember his username!? I had a lot of private messages from and to him but I just checked and I guess I deleted them----Anybody else remember his username (Ree?) If someone does--His username can be checked in Community ----white word in the blue strip across top of page(s) in here---and then select Members List. I doubt if he is still in the forum--Think he has graduated by now---I know that quite some time ago he had 'told' Yogi that he was just going to be behind the scene.

I just checked a few things out. The name is Mr.Vega. To get to his profile page--Go to the Community 'place' I mentioned above--Go to the M's and go to page 13--Click on his name to bring you to his profile page---You can then private message him--But doubt if he will see or get the message--No email contact given either.
