Thanks Corky, I have 3 pinschers and it seems that when there's a problem with their health, it's always Littlebit. I'm really worried about this surgery as I hate to know she has to go thru this. Wednesday will be a stressful day for me. Gosh, I sure miss Yogi..when I had Littlebit and Buddy "fixed", he stayed online with me that morning for over 3 hours, messaging back and forth and giving me support..He was a GREAT friend. Can't help but keep thinking about him and the efforts he made to rescue and care for pets...he was an awesome person. I have since contacted Becky and gotten an update on the 3 dogs she adopted of Yogi's. Glad to know those 3 have another good home now.

[COLOR="SeaGreen"]Will be thinking about you and Littlebit on Wednesday. I expect things will go okay but keep us posted as soon as you have time after the op. I hope I still haven't sent this new lemon computer to be worked on when you reply back after Wed. (I keep putting it off but I know I have to do something about it--Kind of waiting till after busy Christmas time as a lot of things can get lost, etc during this hectic time. My computer keeps getting worse so if I can't get into forum---I can call a couple of members in here to see how things went---Very good I am hoping to hear!!

Yes, Yogi was one of a kind and missed in this forum as well. I am glad you contacted Becky and was very happy she got to adopt the three dogs. She would of taken them all if it had been workable. I know that she would of been the main person that Yogi would want to have his dogs.

Try not to worry too much about the operation. Try to stay calm--Littlebit may pick up on your feelings. Stress not good for either of you--esp. at this time. Take care./COLOR]

Day after surgery, Lilbit is doing good. Time will tell if the surgery was successful. She has a stitch holding her 3rd eyelid, it's a protective procedure after the ulcer was "scratched" to promote healing. She's still sleeping off the sedatives and getting used to using one eye. I'll take her back in 3 to 4 weeks for removal of the stitch. Thanks everyone, for the input and concern.

That is good to hear! Now it is going to be a long wait to see if it was successful but at least the big worry over the operation is over. Thanks for the pic and info. Give her a big hug for me. And keep us updated on how she is doing.

I had to also take my pin in this week for eye problem, which he is now on the mend from. He had a hard time keeping it open, it was weeping, swollen, and a haze on the eye. They ran alot of test on his eye, Glaucoma test, which he tested not having, his eye presure was normal, and they also did the dye test which showed his eye was swollen, but no alcer behind the eye. They put him on antibotics and inflamatories. His eye was so much better the next morning. We went back in for a recheck on tuesday, no swelling, no weeping, holding his eye open and normal, only a haze on it. They ran some of the same test to check for presure. He ended up with some how getting a scratch on his eye, which he has antibotics for healing the scratch which should heal with a slight scar on his eye. and shouldnt have any sight problems. I will be lookng into getting the book you talked about on this post, Thanks for that information.

Glad your pin is doing better and healing well Piratekitty. Pins are so curious and those eyes are constantly snooping into things they shouldn't and can easily get a cut or scratch in the eyes. Lilbit is still trying to get accustomed to the use of one eye. She's doing good so far.

One week after surgery..Littlebit still has drainage from the eye. She's not as active these days. She has trouble managing with one eye. I'll be so glad to get the stitches out and see how well she's healing.

Thanks for the update. Hoping for the best. Did the vet say she may have drainage for a while after the surgery? Wish she didn't have the low energy but if it is only because of the eye and not because of any side effects of any meds she may be on at least that will get better. I am a big worry wart about meds and dogs. And hope I am not alarming you but I have to ask--Is she on any meds because of the surgery, etc? I hope Rimadyl isn't in the picture?!--->Please Do not Give Rimadyl (carprofen)--CAN KILL

I made a mis-print in my last post..sorry..today is 2 weeks exactly since surgery. Corky, I would have thought the vet would have given her an oral antibiotic but he said that oral meds would not help and he gave me the same antibiotic salve to put in twice a day. He said to bring her back in 3-4 weeks and yes, there would be some drainage but you'd think after 2 weeks it would have become much less. I'm a total worry wart too when it comes to my furbabies. My hubby says that if I had to choose between him and the dawgs..he wouldn't stand a chance..LOL
