Unanswered: Aussies average weight at 8 weeks
I can't seem to find a good source for average dog weights by age as well as breed. I have Aussies, but I never knew their weights at 8 weeks. There's a lot of variance, I know, but I was wondering what the average weight (male and female) would be for them at 8 weeks. I recall that my male was over 16 lbs at 10 weeks, which was very large, and my female was just over 10 lbs at 10 weeks, which was pretty small.
I'm going to guess their 8-week weights at about 13 lbs and 8 lbs, respectively. Since the male was large and the female small (when viewed next to their litter mates), I could hazard a guess of an average 8-week weight being around 10 lbs, but that's just a random guess. Does anyone know?

I'm sorry, but we really can't help you. We're just dog lovers. We aren't methmeticians. We don't know the technical side of weight and growth patterns.

I wasn't actually asking for help with a mathematical calculation. I put together my best guess based on numbers I knew, but what I was hoping for is someone that knew the actual answer. I don't really understand your reply. Getting the average adult weight and height of any dog breed is usually a trivial matter, but if it wasn't, and I used my own dogs' weights as a baseline, I wouldn't expect some kind of math help. Just a reply from someone that knows more than I do about what to expect from the adult version of my breed.
In my case, like I said, I'm wanting to know the average puppy weight (at approximately 8 weeks) of an Australian Shepherd, both for males and females. If anyone knows this, please share!

There are 3 different sizes os aussie. And unless you know what size it is, it is hard to tell.

I only suggestion that I could give you is to check out Aussie breeders on line.
I have a different breed, but my dogs breeder lists on her web site the time, sex and weight of each pup from each litter, so from there you could take the average weight for both the males and the females.
She has done this for every litter, and she has been breeding Shilohs for over 10 years.
Even if you found 2 Aussie breeders on line that did this, then I'm sure you could find some sort of average weight for the male and female.
Best of luck.
