Question Unanswered: Alaskan Malamute Potty Problem...

So I have a problem with my Malamute going to the bathroom in my foyer. He only goes in there. But, I don't think it's because of scent.

Every day, I stick to a schedule of letting him out 5 times a day. 7AM, Noon, 5PM, 7PM, and 9PM. When I am at work, he stays in a crate. For the most part he does good. He doesn't go to the bathroom in the crate. He howls all day long but that's a separate issue...

So I'll take him out a 5 when I get off work. He'll be outside 20-30 minutes, pee, poo, sniff around, then he's ready to come in. If I am out of the living room, he will go in the foyer and pee, but only if I'm not paying attention to him. I'm not talking about 'marking', like this is a full blown puddle of a grown size dog that hasn't went all day long. Curious, I started keeping a closer eye on him when he went outside. So this is what I can say:

He'll go outside and immediately pee. Normally takes him about a minute and a half to finish. I thought maybe he was having problems going, but this is like full stream. He takes his time.
He'll then go poo somewhere else in the yard. It seems like he rushes. Sometimes it seems like he could have went a lot more. When he finishes, he starts sniffing around and pees a little bit more.

He'll pee a couple more times, not as long as the first, but good amounts. But when his bladder is empty, he'll squat, try to go, but either nothing comes out, or it's a stream that lasts maybe half a second.

As soon as he gets more active, I assume he's done and ready to play, so I'll bring him in the house and play with him.

There have been times where I would let him in the house, and go to the bathroom myself, and he will go in the foyer to relieve himself. He's peed and pooped in the foyer on multiple occasions after just coming from outside. And this happens within 2 minutes of coming in the house.

Normally, I can tell when he as to go. He'll pace back and forth between me and the door and sometimes whine. But it kinda reminds me of a kid thinking "This is going to be funny" then goes to the foyer.

When he goes in the foyer, he normally goes to his cage by himself. He normally looks like he did something wrong, or he's embarrassed or something. I really don't know what to do about it, but I take him outside after every time he's went to the bathroom in the house and praise him when he finishes outside.

There's been times where he'll squat on the carpet in the living room right in front of me, but he clamps it up when I yell to scare him. Almost like he knows how to control it, but doesn't want to.

I am just about out of options, my wife's patience are shot, and we're talking about rehoming him for this and because he is having a very hard time with the training.

I also have a Siberian Husky. She's 4 years old and I trained her when she was a puppy. She is very well mannored and knows how to tell me when she has to go. Both dogs get along very well together. And most of the time, my Husky is outside when he's in, but he'll do it regardless of who's around him - as long as you're not looking to catch him.

So how does one correct this issue?
