I don't know where you are, so I can't tell you of the shows in your area. However you can get the information from your national dog registry. Ie canada - CKC (Canadian Kennel Club), America - AKC (American Kennel Club). They all have listing and directories that will tell you want shows are going to be held where.

We just had the St. Catharines Dog show at the Beamsville fiargrounds this weekend and I know that our National is in Sudbury in 2 weeks or so.

This is the website to your National Kennel Club

The Kennel Club UK - Official Site

There is also a link on there for local Clubs. You can get information on your local club on the website, call and they will be able to tell you what shows are in your local area. You'd have to look but you might find a list on this website of show dates as well.

I hope that helps

Yes, Ive been to several Dog shows. I think they're great. They have vendors that sell items that you can't normally find in pets stores, or if you can, you get a better price at the show. You get to see many dog breeds at their best and after showing you're able to spaek with breeders and get information.

There is an AKC all-breed dog show in my town once a year in the Springtime (March/April). I'm not sure how long it's been held, but I've been attending (as a spectator) since I was a kid in 1981. Being a nut for dogs all my life, I always enjoy seeing the dogs most people don't see everyday, such as Salukis, Borzois, Scottish Deerhounds, Field Spaniels, Clumber Spaniels, Ibizan Hounds, Pharoah Hounds, Sussex Spaniels, American Water Spaniels.... And I always take lots of photos! Some years there aren't any Field Spaniels, Sussex Spaniels or American Water Spaniels though. Can you tell my favorites are sighthounds & spaniels*LOL* OH! And once in a great while I will be lucky enough to find an exhibitor who has brought along a non-AKC breed.... Two different years I met ladies who had a Longhaired Whippet (she had a Borzoi entered); and a lady who had an Azawakh (had Whippets entered). BTW-an Azawakh is a rare sighthound breed from Morocco.

The past couple years, although I still attend the local AKC show; my passion has switched to attending rare breed shows. These shows are a 5-hour drive away from where I live so I only go to 1-2 per year. The only thing I don't like about the rare breed shows is that there are no vendors of any kind, not even food or drinks.

there are dog shows every weekend in the UK all over the country. At the moment we are in the height of the Championship show season, this weekend I'm at our breed club show on Saturday and on Sunday in Edinburgh at an all breeds Championship show. 2 weekends ago it was Bournmouth and next weekend I'm Judging in Birmingham. The Kennel club will give you details of shows in your area or alternatively ask at your local vets or pet shop.
