...swollen?? Do they show??? My dog neighbors dog is belived to be 60 days pregnant and I know they go till 63 days...However she is not showing but her teets are like utters and her vaginal area is swollen, she sleeps ALL THE TIME..Do dogs always show when they are pregnant..Because she is not.Shes a bloodhound...Her rib cage area seems alot wider..Just not her lower vaginal area.

Some do not show as much as others.. but yes their vagina will become enlarged and their teets will grow. Good luck!!!

most of them do i've never seen one that hasn't done off that stuff may you should suggest taking her to the vet

sometimes they don't show when they're preg. she may be sick, if she stays outside all the time. if you feel comfortable doing this, you can squeeze one of her teats and if the liquid that comes out is white she will probably birth the first puppy within 24-36 hours. if that doens't happen take her to the vet immediately!!!

I have a 8mo poodle who i left with a family member without knowing she was coming into heat they have a 8mo yorkie who got a hold of her several time but no one saw them tie can she still get pregnant?

By now you probably know whether the dogs in question were pregnant or not. But I'll toss out some general information that may be of help to others.

Virtually all female dogs experience some degree of false pregnancy if they are not bred. Some will only have mild symptoms, and you may not notice. Others can experience a full blown false pregnancy, including lactation, nesting behavior, and the adoption of some object, usually a stuffed toy, as a surrogate puppy.

The biggest danger to unspayed females who are experiencing false pregnancy is a very serious infection of the uterus called pyometra. Pyometra may have very vague symptoms such as increased water consumption, increasesd urination, and lack of appetite. Other symptoms would be a bloody or pus like discharge from the vagina.

It is vitally important to have dogs showing any abnormal symptoms after they've been in heat checked over by a vet. Untreated, pyometra is deadly. Usually the only treatment to save the dog's life is to spay her ASAP.
