Hello im Heather, 13 years old. I am currently showing in Junior Showmanship in Open Intermediate. I love getting all the information I can about how to present your dog, and what makes you stand out and be the best you can be. I hope to become a Professional Handler one day and am trying to learn all I can. I have shows coming up and would like to know if anyone has any tips for me?

My daughter currently shows, and for a junior you need to know your breed very well. She shows in UKC so I don't know about AKC.
Give lots of eye contact and smile.
Most of all have that winning attitude.
However you feel is how your dog is going to feel.

I am a junior handler too. I have been to a couple AKC shows so far but have more experience in 4-H.

Really, you just have to have confidence, you have to believe that you have the most perfect dog in the history of the world. And you do need to know what poses work for your breed. I'd look it up on google or something if you need help with poses. but I wouldn't mind some help too.

Advice could be breed specific. It would help to know the breed of dog you want to show.
Best advice is to find a mentor.
